EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — An El Paso Electric employee was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries after being burned by an electric arc in west El Paso Thursday.

According to a spokesperson with the El Paso Fire Department, the EP Electric employee was burned by an electric arc that was generated by a metering device near Scenic Drive and Robinson Avenue.

The employee has since been released from the hospital.
